Celebrating the life of

Paul David Baldwin

Passed away on December 14, 2024

Paul David Baldwin

Paul David Baldwin, 44, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2024, in Savannah.  He was born November 15, 1980, in Urbana, IL to Lacy Charles Baldwin and Janet Scales Baldwin.

He is survived by the love of his life, Michelle Lowe Baldwin, his five cherished children, Ally, Brookie, Tommy, Katie, and Ella, his mother, Janet Scales Baldwin, his brother Frank Baldwin (Misty), his many work and church friends, and our whole Savannah family, that had been with us every step of the way. .

Paul was preceded in death by his father, Lacy Charles Baldwin, his sister, Beth Baldwin, his brother, Chuck Baldwin, and his father-in-law, Tom Lowe.

There was nothing Paul loved more on this earth than his five children. He was their biggest fan, whether he was proudly watching them Altar serve or cheering them on from the sidelines or pool deck. Win or lose, he made sure they knew he was immensely proud of them, no matter the outcome. He taught his children to always do the right thing, even if it meant standing alone, to remain steadfast in their beliefs, and to never forget how much he loved them.

Paul was a proud master Mercedes technician who formed close bonds with fellow technicians wherever he worked. Five years ago, he was forced to leave Critz Inc. due to medical challenges but always hoped to return and work alongside his friends Dustin, Robert, and Tiffany. Their support filled his heart, and he was grateful to call them friends.

Prior to Critz, Paul spent 10 years at Autobahn Service Center, where he built some of the best friendships of his life. These friendships became family, and Paul remained forever thankful for the time he spent there.

Although Paul was a 23-year resident of Savannah, West Virginia was always his home. He often referenced his favorite song, saying, “West Virginia, almost heaven.” A passionate WVU Mountaineers fan, Paul was often dressed head to toe in blue and old gold, proudly displaying his love for his team.

When asked about his final wishes, Paul said, “Have everyone come out in their Saturday best.” For him, that meant his Mountaineers colors. For you, please wear your favorite team or the colors of the team you love most as we come together to say goodbye for now to the man we all cherished so deeply.

A Memorial Mass will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 19, 2024 at St. James Catholic Church.

I believe I only met Paul once and very briefly but Michelle has been a lifelong friend of mine. One of my most important friendships ever. My sincere condolences to her and their children. Knowing Michelle and how amazing her kids are that I hear/read about frequently I can only imagine Paul was a great man himself.
